Nine Iraqi policemen killed

Baghdad - Nine policemen were killed and nine wounded in attacks in Baghdad and Kirkuk on Tuesday.
Three policemen died and three were injured when a roadside bomb exploded in the northern oil-producing city of Kirkuk, said police colonel, Burhan Habib.
According to police colonel, Adel Ibrahim, four more policemen were killed when their patrol car was ambushed by gunmen just east of the town.
An interior ministry official said that two policemen were killed and six were wounded in eastern Baghdad, when a car bomb exploded near a restaurant popular with security forces.
A pedestrian was also injured in the blast.
In other violence, Jassem al-Fhidawi, a professor of Arabic literature, was shot dead outside Baghdad's Mustansiriyah University, a day after another professor and his driver were also killed there.
Six civilians were wounded by a roadside bomb in the capital's eastern district of Zayunah.
