Guatemala: Earthquake kills dozens

A strong earthquake off the coast of Guatemala killed dozens and trapped others under rubble, crushing homes and cars, destroying roads and forcing evacuations as far away as Mexico City.

Yangon - At least 13 people were killed and 40 taken to hospital after a powerful earthquake struck central Myanmar on Sunday, Save the Children said.

The death toll from the 6.8-magnitude quake included four labourers on a bridge and two people killed in a monastery collapse in an area north of Mandalay, Myanmar's second biggest city, the aid group said in a report.

It said a further six people were killed in Sint Ku township in Sagaing region, while one died in Mandalay.
