25 Rottweilers maul abusive owner

2011-12-10 14:30

Prague - A 60-year-old woman was mauled to death on Friday by up to 25 Rottweilers she was keeping on her property in Radonice-nad-Ohri, a village some 65km north of the Czech capital Prague, police confirmed.

"Several dogs attacked their owner at about 06:00. She died immediately after suffering serious wounds," police spokesperson Daniel Vitek told AFP.

"An investigation was launched to confirm all the circumstances of the incident," Vitek added.

After being called to the scene by the woman's daughter, police removed 25 dogs from the property, but were not immediately able to confirm whether the woman was involved in breeding the canines for dog-fighting.

The dogs were "abused and starving", according to TV Nova, a local Czech broadcaster.

If this story is true and the 60-year old WOMAN mistreated those poor dogs, then she deserved what she got, her ending, albeit quite grissly.

I am so pleased to see the shoe on the other foot for a change, with all the animal abuse happening I do not have a problem with this attack at all especially if she was abusing them!

On a local note! The SPCA is desperately seeking volunteers to help them over the December period. Hundreds of animals (dogs, cats, etc etc) are abandoned as their owners disappear for holidays. These animals are rescued and brought into the SPCA's. (Hopefully) Please give even 1 hour of your time, visit your local SPCA and after a short but informative course you are made a volunteer. The most basic of things like walking the dogs for 10 minutes each or simply playing in a pen with the cats makes a huge difference to the stress these poor animals go through. Personally, giving of my time to this is very rewarding.

William, this will be very dangerous for me. I will come home with a few of these poor animals. Also, sponsor a cage at Wet Nose for R150 a month. Until the animal finds a home, at least it will be fed and looked after properly. Wet Nose does not euthanize the animals.

    Well done doggies.

  • Winsome - 2011-12-11 09:46

Yay!! For a change animals standing up for themselves - there are those in SA who deserve the same treatment. I just hope these dogs are not put down - they deserve good homes.

  • binarycape - 2011-12-11 10:56

    Serves her right.

  • Annelie - 2011-12-11 11:07

Can someone reward these dogs please! Well done! I am sick and tired of animal abuse!

  • malcolm.hepplewhite - 2011-12-11 11:55

This is soo sad. The breed gets a bad name and the dogs involved will probably all be put down.

  • Passionate.Parrot - 2011-12-11 12:39

    She got what she deserved.

  • Mariana - 2011-12-15 08:58

Reality is that they will find a reason to put them down due to the fact that they have attacted this useless human being, should the circumstances be confirmed. Sad but true, poor animals. Wish they can put down some humans in SA for animal abuse!!!

      kuvaniap - 2012-01-12 11:17

I know its really sad :(
