511 hurt in Love Parade tragedy

Duisburg - The number of injured in this weekend's Love Parade disaster in Germany has risen to 511, with one of the 42 people in hospital still in a critical condition, prosecutors said on Monday.

The previous toll for the number of injured in Saturday's tragedy in the western city of Duisburg, in which 19 people died in a panicked scramble in a tunnel, had been put by authorities at more than 340.

Prosecutors are investigating the disaster after claims that warnings that the city was too small to host one of Europe's biggest techno music festivals were ignored.
