6 Danes die in summer cottage fire
Stockholm – Six Danish citizens died in a fire that destroyed a summer cottage in western Sweden at the weekend, Swedish police said on Monday.
The blaze had razed the remote house to the ground by the time emergency services arrived, late on Sunday morning.
Police have begun an investigation, a spokesperson told dpa.
The wood-heated house, located near Tidaholm, about 150 kilometres north-east of Gothenburg, had neither electricity nor running water, Swedish Radio reported.
The deceased lived in southern Sweden. Police in neighbouring Denmark have also informed relatives of the victims, two of whom were children.
