9/11 mastermind wants uniform for trial

2012-06-13 22:33

San Juan - The man who has called himself the "mastermind" of the 9/11 attacks wants to wear military-style clothing at his upcoming war crimes trial in Guantanamo.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has asked to wear a camouflage field jacket and camouflage turban with traditional Pakistani clothing as he goes on trial at the US base in Cuba on charges that include murder and terrorism.

Prosecutors oppose the idea and military officials prevented Mohammed from wearing the items at his 5 May arraignment.

One of his defence attorneys, Jason Wright, says the US has traditionally allowed defendants in war crimes tribunals to wear clothing of their choice. Wright said on Wednesday that the defence is asking the judge to overrule that decision. The next court hearing is scheduled for August.

Plenty of literature debunking the 911 conspiracies , below is a link to a nice summation from popular mechanics : http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military/news/1227842 @Jameel - there is irreffutable evidence for the moon landings , Columbus didn't discover America but rather landed in San Salvador which was the first landing of a lasting contact with America. His visit was preceded by the norseman Leif Ericson in the 11th century , some 500yrs before.

Whatever the outcome of his case, please do not stereotype all Muslims because Islam doesn't teach us to do such actions. The word Islam itself is derived from a root word which means peace in Arabic.

Zayd - I tottally aggree with you on the fact that your religion does not advertise to murder people. And that all religions are peace. But why don't the middle east do something about it? Why is it that there is always foreign intervention in it?
