Islamabad - A group of Baluch activists are finishing a nearly 3 000km protest march across Pakistan over their claims of abuses by the country's security forces.

Right activist Maryam Kunwar said the protesters arrived Friday in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. Some 100 protesting relatives have been marching since Oct. 27 from Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province.

The marchers carried photos of missing relatives with their names and the dates they disappeared. They said they want the government to find their missing relatives - or hold the security forces responsible for their disappearances.

The disappearances in southwestern Baluchistan province began swelling in the mid-2000s, when General Pervez Musharraf's government cracked down on insurgents there. Activists say thousands are missing after the crackdown.
