Assad rules out external solution

2012-06-28 22:28

Dubai - Syrian President Bashar Assad told Iranian state television on Thursday that a solution imposed on Syria from outside was unacceptable because only Syrians could resolve the country's crisis.

"No non-Syrian model is acceptable because no one but us knows how to solve the problem," Assad said during the rare hour-long interview.

Referring to strained relations with Turkey following the Syria's shooting down of one of its military fighter planes, Assad said there was a difference between the stance of Turkish officials and the positive view of Turkish people towards Syria.

Bastard al-assad has no say about the future of Syria. His illegitimate regime is nothing more than a terrorist organisation !!

so Assad says only Syrians know how to "solve the problem" in syria. the man is on drugs. it looks like he's got no clue. unless he thinks bombing the hell out of his people is a solution

As a result of your decision to not allow peaceful internal discourse about a new Syria, you have made yourself part of the problem, not the solution. Hence the end of your rule, and probably your life, are near. It didn't have to be this way.

Leave each and every country to rule over their own people according to their traditions and ways! God never intended the world to become a global village!

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-06-29 08:14

Andre, NO, one can never allow an ( unelected )leader, to slaughter 'his own' people. If a leader has not got the courage to have elections, he has no longer the right to be in charge. Its simple as that !! It is not only the right, but the duty of other nations, to interfere, in a masacre!!

      jaba.kov - 2012-06-29 08:20

I agree with 'each to their own', however, when the butcher of Damascus (Assad) has already led to more than 15000 deaths of which most are civilians - the world should do something to stop him. I don’t care much for Syria, but this mad man can not continue to kill his own without at least a backlash from the world.

Its a regressive statement , If God didn't want a global village then he would have created borders and stated this unequivocally . India and the numerous Gods in Hinduism would have the greatest border patrol in the world ,we can leave God/Gods out of it. Any plural state is going to have massive problems with this and will inevitably end in oppression , atrocity and genocide. Each state decending back into hemogenous feudal groups intolerant of each other and making war common place further dividing those existing groups. If you think nations operate as islands unaffected by others then your deluded. We are all stakeholders on the planet , in humanity and rely on each other . When you have the power as a species to destroy the world and each other then sovereignty and autonomy cannot be absolute, like free speech or expression are limited to hate speech and incitement to violence. I just don't think everyone sitting in their corner breeding xenophobia in the long run is going to result in anything but mass tragedy.

WHAT NATO CAN DO FOR The Gaza flotilla raid WHICH was a military operation by Israel against six ships of the "TURKISH Freedom Flotilla" on 31 May 2010 in international waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The flotilla, organized by the Free Gaza Movement and the Turkish Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH), was carrying humanitarian aid and construction materials, with the intention of breaking the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of the Gaza Strip. Israel was created from 52% of the land formerly occupied by the Jewish and Palestinian people, and Palestine 43%. Most of the Israeli territory was the Negev Desert. Jerusalem fell into neither territory. The Palestinians with their unelected neighbors declared war on Israel THE VERY NEXT DAY. In the 1960's they even invaded Israel twice. Full military invasions. The result: Israel survived and pushed them back, gaining territory in the process. This is the origin of what you wrongly call the occupied territories. There have been almost daily attacks against Israel by Palestinians, incited by their self-serving, unelected backers. Palestinians even teach their children at Kindergarten to attack Israel, rather than be peaceful. Children. Kindergarten. Imagine that. From day one, and even today it's wage war on Israel. All that needs to happen is for Palestinians to choose peace side by side with Israel. This is more likely going forward now, because the unelected dictators who have been inciting the Palestinians are being removed from power by their own people, one by one. They will no longer use the Palestinians for their own political reasons.
