Bin Laden death increases fire of war

2011-05-26 22:15

Dubai - The leader of al-Qaeda's branch in North Africa warned on Thursday that the US killing of Osama bin Laden will only increase the desire to take revenge on the West, the SITE monitoring group reported.

"With this act, you have only increased the fire of war and enraged it," Abu Musab Abdul Wadud, chief of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), said in an audio message posted on jihadist internet forums.

"With this act, you increased the animosity of the Ummah [Muslim nation] towards you, its desire to retaliate against you, and its insistance to fight and defeat you," he said in an address to the West, according to SITE.

Al-Qaeda has already vowed to avenge the May 2 killing in a US commando raid near Islamabad of bin Laden, declaring him a "martyr" and calling on Muslims to rise up against the United States.

So be it. You will lose. You have no idea what you're up against. You're choosing to walk into the meat-grinder.

      Grunk - 2011-05-27 09:26

Have you noticed how vast (and expensive) the meat grinder is becoming? US expenditure alone is 1,5 Trillion dollars and counting - and that is not counting the invaded states problems of hundreds of billions in bombed infrastructure, collateral damage (as the US so sweetly puts it) etc. Not a bad increase from $500M a year in 2000. Keep on going like this and the US will be able to eat their leather boots because there won't be too much money around for food.

@SLG just remember that these guys are everywhere, they dont wear a uniform.Anyway can take up a cause, strap a bomb and innocent lives can be lost. This war will not be won by the so-called"War on Terror".Its will be won b winning the hearts of the extremist.Remember alot of companies stand to benefit when theres war, they will ensure that the US goes to war just to make money.Look at the afgan and Iraq??? woild you say that the US managed to solve the problem in those contries by going to war with them???

      slg - 2011-05-28 07:12

The "meat-grinder" is the pincer between NATO troops in Afghanistan and Pakistan increasingly moving against Al-Quaida and the Taliban. This is happening, and is likely to increase. Muzzy, the hearts of extremist muslims are unlikely to be won. What is likely is increased vocalization by true Muslims, who are inexplicably quiet and undifferentiated from the extremists in their midsts. In the meantime the pincer-movement is happening.

You'll never face an Arab face to face in combat. They are all the same, true cowards. Road side bombs are their forte. D E Lawrence found this after trying to drum some sense into them. Pathetic lot, really.

      daaivark - 2011-05-27 07:40

Well well. Racism is still alive and kicking and not restricted to black and white. How many "arabs" have you met? DE Lawrence was an alcoholic wreck with all the presumptions that go with super-elite schooling, so his utterances are highly questionable. Lastly, Al-Qaeda does not represent the entire Arab world you nasty dimwit.

      Irené - 2011-05-27 10:23

And how is your hateful racism any different from the very 'extremists' you hate so much?? God, some people are so self righteous and self entitled they become the very thing they hate- lets not forget hate breeds hate- you cant fight fire with fire. You are as much part of the problem, as any of the extremist muslims you speak of. Stupidity and hate knows no race or gender- ansd you dear sire- have been afflicted by both- pity on you.

  • USAMAH - 2011-05-27 09:35

It seems like after killing Usama, the world actually didn't become safer???

      JustinD - 2011-05-27 12:24

      No-one said it would

      Irené - 2011-05-27 15:28

@ justin- actual president Barack Obama said so- just one more lie in order to further their greedy cause

      Ingwe - 2011-05-27 17:31

Irene didn't you keep telling us Bin Laden died 10 years ago, so have you changed you mind.

      slg - 2011-05-28 07:14

USAMAH, it's just a few weeks. Clearly you still have your silly agenda.

      slg - 2011-05-28 07:15

Irene, thankfully you;re a weak voice. You still do not know what is really going on in world affairs. But you sound erudite. :)
