Denpasar, Indonesia - A four-year-old Indonesian boy was among at least 26 people killed in the restaurant blasts on the tourist island of Bali after he unwittingly ran towards the bomb, a doctor said on Sunday.
Dafiansyah died from major injuries to his lungs and heart moments after he arrived in hospital, said Mangatas Simamora, a doctor at Bali's main Sanglah hospital where the victims were taken.
"He was having fun and running towards the bomb. His injuries were too severe for a boy of his age to survive," he said.
The boy's parents who were dining in the Jimbaran Bay restaurant suffered minor injuries but the mother went into shock, screaming hysterically and repeatedly trying to remove her intravenous drip, Simamora said.
The blasts, believed to be carried out by suicide bombers, exploded at three packed restaurants at Bali's Jimbaran and Kuta tourist resorts on Saturday evening.
