Bogus doctor rapes old men

France - A Frenchman who pretended to be a doctor so he could rape at least two old men in their 90s has been arrested and put under criminal investigation, law enforcement officials said on Friday.
The 54-year-old faces charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault on vulnerable persons for the two assaults, during which the suspect - who was not identified - used his bogus medical identity to convince the victims to undress for an "examination" in his presence.
Police in the central Nievre region were alerted after one of the victims, a 93-year-old now deceased, overcame his shame to finally tell his family and lodge a report.
In their investigation, officers found another man, aged 90, who had suffered similar indignities several months earlier.
A number plate noted by the 93-year-old's widow led police to the suspect, who was arrested on Tuesday.
A search of his home turned up many photographs of elderly men, some of them naked.
Investigators said their may be other victims too embarrassed to come forward.
