Cheering crowds irk Berlusconi
Rome - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said he was "deeply embittered" after thousands of people in Rome cheered the imminent end of his rule ending his near two-decade domination of political life.
"I am deeply embittered," Berlusconi was quoted as saying by Italian news agency ANSA, as demonstrators in the streets shouted "Buffoon!" and "Leave now!" just before he was expected to formally submit his resignation.
