Washington - Michelle Knight, who was abducted and held captive at a house in Cleveland, Ohio, for 11 years, has been speaking about her ordeal.

In an interview with CNN, made public on Tuesday, Knight - who was released in a dramatic rescue six months ago - said she had been "tied up like a fish, an ornament on the wall".

Knight, now 32, was kidnapped by former bus driver Ariel Castro in 2002.

In her interview, Knight spoke of how Castro had hung her by her feet, neck and arms, and said she was held by a chain.

She said she had not always fought back, at least not at first.

She told CNN she had been in a state of shock after her abduction - and all she could do was cry and beg Castro to release her.

Knight was rescued from Castro's house in May, along with two other young women who were being held - Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus.

In August, Castro, 53, was found hanging in his prison cell.

He had been sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 1 000 years, on 937 counts of kidnapping, rape, gross sexual imposition, felonious assault, child endangerment and aggravated murder, arising from him having starved and beaten the women to induce miscarriages when they became pregnant.
