Indianapolis - A three-year-old boy was killed by a falling mirror at a retail store on Saturday, said United States officials in Indianapolis.
Christopher Antonio was apparently playing near the 1.5m floor-mounted mirror in the children's section of a Wal-Mart store in Indianapolis when it fell.
Marion county sheriff's lieutenant Michael DeHart said the blunt force of the crash had probably killed the toddler.
"The mother was approximately 1.5m away from the child when she heard a loud crash," said DeHart.
He said the boy's five-year-old sister was also in the store.
According to DeHart, Christopher's mother and another shopper were able to pull the mirror off the boy.
Jolanda Stewart, a spokesperson for Bentonville, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc, said the chain was co-operating with investigations into the incident.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the matter is under investigation," she said.
