London - British police leaders say detectives will be soon be taught how to keep track of suspects on social networking sites such as Facebook.
Britain's National Policing Improvement Agency says the updated training will give investigators guidance on policing in the internet age.
The new training announced on Friday will give officers tips on how to navigate sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
It will also take in how to gather clues from computers, cellphones and other electronic devices.
Facebook and Twitter are both enormously popular in Britain. Facebook alone accounts for one in every six internet page views in the UK, according to research firm Experian Hitwise.
