High-speed chase after bank heist

2012-09-13 07:50

Los Angeles - A wild pursuit of bank robbers across southern California came to an end on Wednesday with the capture of two men who had hurled cash out the windows during the chase.

The vehicle became blocked by traffic in Los Angeles and sheriff's deputies pulled the men out.

A large crowd immediately surrounded the scene.

A police spokesperson says the chase began after four men committed an armed robbery in the Santa Clarita Valley in northern Los Angeles county.

The robbers fled south and en route two robbers bailed out of the vehicle in the Sylmar area of the San Fernando Valley.

The pursuit took the bank robbers and police across freeways to downtown Los Angeles, where they exited a freeway and began an erratic route through neighbourhoods.
