Israel closes Gaza border

Gaza City - Israel on Wednesday closed until further notice the only border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, the Rafah terminal, said Palestinian officials.
An official in the Palestinian civil affairs ministry, which managed the Palestinian-side of the terminal, said: "The Israelis told us today that the Rafah terminal had been shut until further notice."
A Palestinian terminal official said the crossing point was shut after the last people crossed on Wednesday.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
Defence minister Shaul Mofaz recommended earlier that Israel withdraw all its troops from Gaza ahead of schedule after the fatal shooting of a teenager on Tuesday.
