Israel kills armed infiltrator: Army

2012-02-28 15:00

Jerusalem - Israeli forces engaged in a firefight overnight with gunmen who infiltrated from Egypt's Sinai peninsula, killing one, the Israeli military said on Tuesday.

"Soldiers patrolling along the Israel-Egypt border identified a number of suspects who had infiltrated into Israel," the military said in a statement.

"The suspects fired at the soldiers, who returned fire and identified a hit," the statement added, saying all but one member of the group escaped back into Egypt.

"Upon the arrival of an IDF [Israeli Defence Force] medical force to the location of the incident, they determined the death of the injured suspect."

The incident is the latest in a string of apparent attempts by militants to infiltrate Israel via its border with Egypt, according to the Israeli military.

On February 21, troops interrupted an apparent smuggling attempt during which a man hurled a bag containing explosives at soldiers.

Post-revolution Egypt

The bag failed to detonate and the suspect was able to escape, the army said.

And on February 23, in the same border area where the latest shootout occurred, Israeli troops discovered a bag containing a large explosive device after unsuccessfully attempting to detain an infiltrator.

Border security incidents have increased in recent months as Israel has warned that lawlessness in post-revolution Egypt is allowing militants to use Sinai to stage attacks against the Jewish state.

It accuses militants based in Gaza of using the long border between Egypt and Israel to infiltrate and carry out attacks, including one last August in which gunmen launched co-ordinated ambushes on vehicles in Sinai, killing eight Israelis.

Israel is building a giant steel security barrier along the frontier, which is due to be completed by the end of this year.

The illegal occupants of Palestine still killing the true owners of the land. This is a simple agreement between Britain and Rothschilds to finance WW1, land the British may have been occupying but it was certainly NOT theirs to give away.

      nathanacohen - 2012-02-28 17:41

this must be a joke... go do some reading, you making yourself look like an idiot!

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 17:45

No, I suggest you do some reading.

      nathanacohen - 2012-02-28 18:17

Britain never occupied palestine they were given a mandate to control the land following the fall of the Ottoman empire following WW1. The League of Nation later to become the UN decided on the partition plan of 1947 dividing Palestine into 2 states... Seriously twisting of facts will not win u any arguments...back to school for you

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 18:27

'They were given a mandate' by whom and for what reason? How did Britain fund WW1. Who was the League of Nations to divide up a state, to have Palestinians put into the same kind of concentration camps in Gaza and the West Bank as the Jews in WW2. The only reason the USA got into WW1 was due to the influence of the Rothschilds, bargaining with Europe and your League of Nations, to give the spoils (Palestine) to a manufactured state. The Americans were so against going to war that they had to implement conscription! Truth is fine if you only want to see one side. Palestine was Canaan, not a Jewish nation at any time in the past. The 6 sided star of Israel even comes from the Red Shield or RothSchild's family emblem! Their original name was Bauer. Meyer Amschel changed all that. Look them up, they are slightly famous.

      nathanacohen - 2012-02-28 18:31

Do you even know from where the term Palestine comes? The rest of your statement is actually beyond belief....to say deluded is to be kind...

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 18:36

yes, it's ancient Greek in origin, something about sea people as far as I recall. If you would like to disprove any of what I have said, go for it. The mass camps in West Bank and Gaza, the bizzare atonement for the horrors of Germany in WW2 against Jews by giving them land on ANOTHER CONTINENT and not belonging to Germans... makes perfect sense.

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 19:07

Yes Matthew and no doubt they will argue that the Rothschild's had nothing to do with the Balfour declaration either. Even though it is well documented that in 1917, a wee time before the Holocaust, it was agreed to give the land to Israel. I actually don't care if it was given to the Goblins from the Black Forest, it's still a dodgy deal.

      Fred - 2012-02-29 03:22

The Israelites were in the area as long as the other tribes. Fact. Deal with it. And grow up.

      Fred - 2012-02-29 16:29

You too have been taken in by the unelected, oppressive dictatorships of the Middle East who have been using the Palestinians to hold onto power. The Palestinians are going to have their dream once the dictatorships are gone and there'll be greater peace in the Middle East.

goyougoodthing: Do you really believe what you wrote? If so, I sincerely hope you are one of a kind.

      nowicki1 - 2012-02-28 17:57

No, they are many like him who are searching for the truth.

      nowicki1 - 2012-02-28 17:59

Millions are waking up to the true nature and state of our civilization and are searching for answers. The veil is being lifted

      nathanacohen - 2012-02-28 18:20

What truth is that? The convenient one calling the Palestinians victims of Israeli aggression? Or the inconvenient one singling out the Palestinian people for their own suffering? Always easier to have an external locus of control and not take responsibility for your own situation!!

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 18:21

Not likely, lots of people are aware of the Rothschilds, their part in all the wars, genocide and stock market crashes and how they have manipulated the world into fighting amongst each other rather than the real enemy. There are none so blind as those that think that they are free Anton.

      nathanacohen - 2012-02-28 18:25

The sounds very much like the "protocols of the elders of zion" vehemently anti-semitic preaching which preceded the Holocaust...sad and scary to see this sort of belief system still exists

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 18:29

Nateco, knowing the origins of the illegal state of Israel is not anti-semetic, anymore than being anti-apartheid is being anti white. They are different things.

      nathanacohen - 2012-02-28 18:33

Blatant lies are anti-semitic...arguing with you is pointless...unlike u my imagination has limits

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 18:38

Pulling anti-semetic like everyone else pulls the race card... so tired, so sad, so typical.

      Fred - 2012-02-29 03:23

Matthew, keep searching. At the moment, you're some way off.

      Jaba - 2012-02-29 08:04

goyougoodthing what you say is as anti-semetic as the'K' word is racist. But its ok, for the more that people like you hate them the stronger they get... that is the story of Israel & the Jewish people.

      Fred - 2012-02-29 16:35

Nateco, the Palestinians have been used by the unelected, oppressive dictatorships of the Middle East to distract their populations from their disenfranchisement, and to hold onto power. They have used Israel in the same way, presenting Israel as the oppressor, the Palestinians as the victims. All the while it is them who have been the victimizers, using the Palestinians for their own self-serving ends. Have you ever asked yourself, if these unelected dictatorships cared so much about the Palestinians, why didn't they give the Palestinians what would have amounted to a tiny piece of land, relative to the vast so-called Arab lands? The Israelites have been in the area as long as the other tribes. Fact.

  • Anton - 2012-02-28 18:10

Matthew: All the answers exist and are available to those who visit the state of Israel.

      nowicki1 - 2012-02-28 19:00

Lol, not sure if I know how to reply to this one. I'll use the internet thanks.

      goyougoodthing - 2012-02-28 20:35
