Gaza City - A Palestinian teenager in the Gaza Strip was killed by Israeli army gunfire on Saturday as he approached the border fence with Israel, Palestinian medics said.

They said the 17-year-old boy's body was found near El-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

An Israeli army spokesperson said earlier that soldiers had opened fire and hit a suspect near the border.

On Friday, two young Gazans were wounded as Israeli troops opened fire at a protest near the border fence.
