Jordan MP pulls gun in TV debate

2012-07-09 15:04

Amman - A Jordanian prosecutor says a lawmaker faces charges of attempted murder after pulling a gun on his opponent in a live TV talk show.

Mohammed Shawabka pointed his weapon at Mansour Seif-Eddine Murad on Thursday night after the ex-deputy called him a "mafia thief".

The two men were debating Syria's uprising on the private Jordanian Josat satellite station.

Shawabka accused Murad of being a "spy" for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime. He first hurled his shoe at Murad and then pulled out a pistol, but no shots were fired.

Host Mohammed Habashna described the incident as the "Wild West, but we needed horses in the studio."

The prosecutor spoke on Monday on condition of anonymity because he's not allowed to comment on a court case. Shawabka declined comment. Murad denied Shawabka's accusation.

Where else but in an islamic country. Muslim proclivity to resort to violence to solve problems is well documented.

If he doesn't and can't see things the way I see them, he's an INFIDEL and should be killed! That's the Islamic mentality!

And the yuppies would lead us to believe that incidents like these can only happen in SA. Typical of people who grew up in the yard and were hidden from real life. Other countries get incidents like these but are good at not hanging their laundry in public.
