Annapolis - Alexander Kinyua, a Kenyan man living in the United States, has pleaded guilty in a US court after being charged for killing his Ghanaian housemate and eating his heart and brain.

Daily Nation reports that Kinyua on Monday told a court in Maryland that he killed his friend Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie with an axe, dismembered his body, ate the heart, hid the head and hands in his home and placed the remaining body parts in a trash bin in a nearby church parking lot.

Judge Stephen Waldron in his ruling found the former mechanical engineering student not criminally responsible for the act due to mental illness, and committed him to a mental health facility.
