New York - The UN acting envoy to Kosovo says the situation is tense and unpredictable a month after a violent dispute with Serbia, which claims the region.
Farid Zarid is the acting special representative of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to Kosovo. He also updated the Security Council on Tuesday on the investigation into claims that Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci allegedly led a criminal network that sold organs of civilian captives during the 1998-99 Kosovo war.
Thaci denies the allegations.
Zarid says the task force to investigate allegations raised in a report last year by Council of Europe investigator Dick Marty is expected to begin work in September.
US prosecutor John Clint Williamson has been named lead prosecutor.
