Maldives ex-leaders' allies riot
Male - Supporters of the Maldives' former president are rioting through the streets and demanding he be reinstated.
The rioters threw petrol bombs at police on Wednesday night and vandalised a private television station that had been critical of former President Mohamed Nasheed's government. Smoke was rising from some buildings.
Police had earlier fired tear gas at the demonstrators and arrested two lawmakers from Nasheed's party.
Nasheed resigned on Tuesday under conditions he called a coup. He was replaced by his vice president, Mohammed Waheed Hassan.
