Athens - A man was burnt alive on Wednesday while trying to set his 90-year-old aunt on fire at her home in a northern Greek village, said police.
The dead man, identified as Nikos Grigoriadis, 52, was very drunk at the time of the early-morning attack, said police.
They said Magda Papadopoulou survived with minor burns after nephew Grigoriadis poured petrol on to her - extensively splashing himself in the process - and lit a cigarette lighter, igniting the fuel fumes.
Papadopoulou told police her nephew had no previous argument with her.
