Lagos - Nigeria's anti-drug agency said on Thursday it has seized 239 kilogrammes of narcotics at Lagos airport in the first five months of this year.
"The drugs, including cocaine, heroin and cannabis were seized from traffickers at the airport between January and May," an official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (Ndlea) said.
He said 71 suspects were arrested by the agency during the period, adding that some of them were already being prosecuted.
Local media reported on Thursday that two drug dealers were killed in a clash with Ndlea agents in the northern city of Kano on Wednesday.
Last month, two narcotics agents were shot dead by drug dealers in southern Delta state.
