Palestine slams Israel settler move

2012-04-24 15:00

Ramallah - The Palestinian presidency criticised on Tuesday an Israeli decision to legalise three outposts as its reply to a letter demanding a settlement freeze to renew peace talks.

"The decision on the settlements is the Israeli answer to president [Mahmoud] Abbas' letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," Palestinians' presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeina said, adding that it was "expected".

Abu Rudeina further called on the "Israeli government to immediately cease unilateral actions, especially settlements activity".

Earlier on Tuesday, Israel announced it was legalising three settlement outposts in the West Bank, Bruchin, Rechelim and Sansana.

Last week, the Palestinians delivered a letter from Abbas in which he accused Israel of stripping the Palestinian Authority of all of its authority and warned over the slide towards a bi-national state.

Abbas also asked Israel to outline "as soon as possible" its positions on four key issues: The principle of a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 lines, halting settlement activity, releasing all Palestinian prisoners and revoking all decisions which undermine bilateral agreements since 2000.

Both sides agreed the Israelis would respond to the letter within two weeks.

Israel says it wants negotiations without preconditions, but the Palestinians have sought a settlement freeze and clear parameters for talks before returning to the table.

In January, negotiators from both sides held five exploratory meetings in a bid to find a way to resume dialogue, but the talks ended inconclusively.

Last time there was a 10month settlement freeze in the West Bank but all that led to was more and more preconditions, the Palestinians dont want peace, as their declaration clearly states... They want the destruction of Israel... Article (19)of the PLO Charter states, "Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic, and the Palestinian Arab People's armed revolution is a decisive factor in the liberation fight and in uprooting the Zionist existence, and this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated."

      Fidel - 2012-04-24 16:01

Have you read the Likud charter, which is reciprocal! The ANC had songs and declarations in its military wing that promised the killing of "Boers". But isn't Israel a 'peace' loving nation? Yes, they want a 'piece' of Lebanon; a 'piece' of Syria; a 'piece' of Iraq; a 'piece' of Saudi Arabia; a 'piece' of Egypt; a 'piece' of Jordan and whatever is left of the 'pieces' in Palestine after the Judeo- Nazis get through 'wiping Gaza off the face of the Earth.'

      Jaba - 2012-04-24 16:36

fidel. i google’d the Likud charter – in a nutshell; It does not include the destruction of Palestine nor the killing of all Muslims like you are trying to convey. All it has is making Israel strong while working for peace, but not at any cost. However, after googling Hamas's charter all you read of is destruction, death, murder, genocide, demise, massacres. All in the name of the religion of peace.

Hmm... I wonder??? what happened in 1967 that changed the "borders" Israel was attacked by 3, no less, armies. And what did Israel do? Defend herself, defeating the enemys in the process and liberating Jerusalem and much of Israel, which the occupying enemy had in their control! Jordan, where a lot of "palestinians" come from, or came from, was one of these armies... So if I follow my logic... if many "palestinians" came from Jordan (dont deny it, you know its true- "palestinians" are just "refugees"/ agents that came from the nations surrounding Israel, that wish to destroy her), and Jordan attacked Israel , then the "palestinians" had this coming on their own head.

      Fidel - 2012-04-24 16:06

Palestinians and their Sephardic brethren, are the true Semites of biblical times that have lived on that land for thousands of years before Europe decided to expel the Slavs and the AshkeNAZIs from their lands. "Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population." -- Moshe Dayan, April 1969, Ha'aretz There is not a single place in Israel that didn't have an Arab/Palestinian population.

@Rayaaz And I am sure Allah must be proud of your comment and will reward you.

      Dylan Dario Sciarappa - 2012-04-24 18:58

Fidel and rayaaz. While I agree that Israel is clearly at fault here I must disagree with your anti semetic comments. One cannot blame the entire Jewish peoples for what appears to be a small entrenched elite within the Israeli and us govt whose only aim is to establish complete control over the middle east. There are many anti settlement and anti war movements within Israel that do not agree with the policies of the Israeli govt.

      Fidel - 2012-04-24 19:20

What is anti-semitic about my comments. I have aknowledged the existance of Jews who have always lived in those lands, the Shepardic Jews. The zionist right-wingers are a bunch of expelled Polish, Hungarian and Russian Slavs or Ashkenazis degenerates, who adopted the Jewish faith in the early centuries. I do not hate Jews (personally I have no reason to), I abhor Israeli land thieves and colonialist.

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-04-24 19:27

Dylan, Wow, it is about time you woke up, Fidel, that Patrick, and Rayaaz, are the most sickening xxxx xxxx on this site; These comments you read here are nothing compared what they have called Israel and the Jewish people. I don't want to repeat, as even in SA it is unlawful.!!! All that these three, know === H.A.T.R.E.D.

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-04-24 19:33

Rayaaz, You are nothing than a piece of dirt. Any decent editor would have thrown you off this site long ago !!!

      Hoosen Essa - 2012-04-24 19:35

@Rayaaz your comment crossed the line. vetner is an idiot who has the oddasity to make an absurd comment that reflects is ignorance, but don't stoop to his level.

      Dylan Dario Sciarappa - 2012-04-24 19:40

Anthony I've always been awake. I have never been a racist that's all. Me and you just see the world differently. Fidel most of the Jewish people in sa come from former eastern block countries such as Lithuania etc so for you to paint them all as Ashkenazi Jews who are all murderous and evil I don't think is fair.

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-04-24 19:53

Dylan, ""don't think is fair'' IT IS SOO SICKENING, IT MAKES ONE PUKE !!!!!!

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:05

Exactly right Rhys, except I think the Palestinians are allowing themselves to be used and abused, from a lack of awareness. I think the real malicious intent is from the corrupt leaders of the region. Thankfully they're disappearing at quite a rapid rate, as the people of the region awake to the lies and manipulations. Positive energy which is based in real goodness, beauty and truth is stronger than weak lies, domination, chauvinism and power over people.

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:07

Fidel, who exactly is "Europe" in your version of history?

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:10

Hoosen, what about vetner's comment is wrong?

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:13

All Jews trace their heritage back to Abraham, whatever Fidel's twisted version of history says. And as has been said to you before, Fidel, it's Sephardic, not Shepardic.

      Fidel - 2012-04-25 11:21

You mean like all human beings trace their ancestry to Adam and Eve. People who spout this rubbish should be locked up in the attic and be left to survive on dust mites.

  • zaatheist - 2012-04-24 18:30

used be be an unconditional supporter and Israel sympathiser. No longer. The way they have behaved in recent years and the theft and building of settlements on Palestinian land makes any possibility of peace impossible and is a recipe for future disaster. Just as my prediction in 1978 that the Apartheid regime would collapse and lose everything if it did not negotiate from a position of strength, and was laughed at and mocked, so I expect the same with in respect of Israel. Before all the religious fundies go berserk, may I say that I continue to believe that Israel has an absolute right to exist but within borders freely negotiated on the basis of the borders that existed in 1967. Also may I say that the selective history quoted by Fidel and the rabid racist comments of Rayaaz are symptomatic of the other problem - the Palestinians and their supported think they have much to gain by keeping the tensions high so as to make any meeting of minds impossible.

      Fidel - 2012-04-24 18:52

What is selective about my post, refute it if you can with your own counter-arguments. Should the Palestinians be standing outside the thief's office with a placard for the next 50 years? Their country and villages are being wiped off the map by the rogue European reject, murderous land thieveing nazi bastard child. What do you suggest they do?

      zaatheist - 2012-04-24 19:07

@Fidel For so long as you and your racist friend Rayaaz play godwin I have no reason to treat you with anything but contempt.

      Fidel - 2012-04-24 19:22

I do not care how you treat me as I'm not commenting here to convert you. Funny though that you are unable to point to a single racist remark in my comment.

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-04-24 19:37

Zaatheist, This is the rubbish that calls Israel " that bastard nazi child "

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-04-24 20:16

Fidel, Do you want to deny, that you called Israel " that bastard nazi child " ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? You are just bloated with HATRED !!!!!!

      Fred - 2012-04-24 21:36

Patrick, you're a stated racist and you're delusional in your beliefs.

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:15

Fidel, the Israelites have been in the area as long as the other tribes, thousands of years. This is recorded fact.

      Brett - 2012-04-25 10:45

The Apartheid system didnt collapse. It was voted away by whites in the 1992 referendum. You were here in 1992 werent you? Use your brain before making ludicrous comments.

      Fidel - 2012-04-25 11:11

Apartheid ended because of its unworkability/unsuistanability, not because of its immorality or exploitive character. It failed/collapsed because it was impractical, not because whites acknowledged that it was wrong. The referendum held in South Africa in 1992 for whites only was necessary because of the worsening situation in South Africa brought on by Apartheid. F.W. de Klerk warned the white voters that a "No" vote would mean continuation of international sanctions, the danger of civil war and worsening chaos in South Africa. Although two thirds of the voters voted "Yes" , this was a vote against the disaster of a civil war, rather than some sudden liking for the black man and we can be assured that of all the hundreds of thousands of White South Africans who have left since 1994, all would still be in South Africa if Apartheid had survived.

      Fred - 2012-04-25 17:06

In your racist world Fidel, you're right. In the real world there were many "Whites" who opposed Apartheid, even holding office at the highest levels of the ANC and Communist Party.

      Fidel - 2012-04-25 18:35

@Anthony Israel is a NAZI bastard child indeed!

  • Nkosinathi - 2012-04-24 18:53

If Holocaust was not good for Jews what is good for Palestinians as observed by Israel??? Israel is an Apartheid state that sort to liquidate the the Palestinians. I sometimes think if here in South Africa Black Africans were to do as Israel does to Palestinians to say if you are a European descendant go to Europe, Jews to Israel and Arabs to Asia that will be crazy. We Africans are an accommodating race. There Jewish Temples we do not bother them, they worship as they like we do not care, Arabs have their own religion and we do not mind their business, so other faith such as Hindu, Muslim. Why is Israel excursively racist state. One day Israel will bombard America and blame Arabs. Israel has nukes nobody raise a finger. Palestinians have bee persecuted since 1948. How do one blame Hitler?? To understand Israel just check video how Palestinians and other national are treated. Check how Christians are humiliated.

      Fidel - 2012-04-24 19:03

The chief characteristic of these Ashkenazis, different from the Shepardic Jews who are Semites is that they imported their racial bigotry from Europe. The latter lived at peace with their neighbours, the former are terrorists.

      zaatheist - 2012-04-24 19:08

      More racist claptrap.

      Fred - 2012-04-24 21:21

      Utter nonsense

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:22

The usual racism from you Fidel. Both Ashkenazi and SEPHARDIC Jews were persecuted by the European regimes you mention. But you look for a target for your racism. In this case it's the Ashkenazi Jews. If you would direct your attention to real evil: the fundamentalist Jihadists and unelected dictators who are slaughtering Muslim families under your nose, the world would be a better place.

  • Nkosinathi - 2012-04-24 21:06

If Israel is not an Apartheid state what is it? Racism and hate is what make that country fail to accept that Palestinians are human beings that can reside . Stop killing people because they differ from your religion. I am glad that there are many Jews people who have stood up and condemned the the racist act

      Fred - 2012-04-24 21:21

Clearly, you're confused about what is going on in Israel and the Middle East. I recommend taking a closer look before commenting, and drawing such rash conclusions.

  • Anneck - 2012-04-24 21:24

These Palestinians should shape up or shift out! They don't wish to live in Israel next to Israelis, they can find another country to invade! Plenty of Arab countries that would take them in and provide homes for! Oh wait a second... These are the same Arab states that left the Palestinians hung out to dry in the first place!

      Fred - 2012-04-25 02:24

      How Patrick?

  • Fred - 2012-04-25 06:07

The most amazing thing is the size of the so-called Arab world, versus the size of Israel. The former is virtually the size of Africa, the latter the size of the Kruger Park Imagine that. And the Syrian and Iranian regimes, together with the other despotic regimes, have been trying to eliminate Israel. That tiny piece of land that the Jewish people have been inhabiting for thousands of years and call home now. Talk about envy and racism. Talk about using the Palestinians, abusing the Palestinians really, for their own self-serving aims. Thankfully these regimes are being dismantled one by one. When they are gone, there will be greater peace in the region. Hallelujah!
