Zurich - A Swiss man who placed an advert luring sadists into an alleged plot to torture, kill and roast a female friend and her daughter, went on trial Wednesday.
The 53-year old man had placed an advertisement in an internet forum in 2010, pretending it was from the female friend and asking experienced sadists to carry out the acts.
He is charged with soliciting killing, sexual coercion and abduction. The prosecution has asked the court for a prison sentence of 17 years plus psychiatric treatment.
At the court in Winterthur, near Zurich, the defendant said he had only posted the message in order to stir his fantasies, and did not intend to facilitate the murder of the woman and her 12-year old daughter, the newspaper Tages-Anzeiger reported.
In the ad, the man included the address of the potential victims, as well as a detailed description of what the sadists should do, press agency sda reported.
Nearly 40 people replied, including one man who went to the woman's house at night and told her he had come to get her. She shut the door on him and he fled.
One of the respondents was an undercover police officer, whose work led to the suspect's arrest.
