President Saleh meets Obama envoy
Sana'a - Yemen's state television says embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh has met in Saudi Arabia with White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan.
It said Sunday's meeting took place at the Riyadh hospital where the Yemeni leader is being treated for wounds suffered in a June 3 attack on his presidential compound in Sana'a, Yemen's capital.
Saleh, Yemen's leader of nearly 33 years, has since February faced massive street protests across his impoverished Arab nation to force him out of power.
Militants linked to al-Qaeda have been taking advantage of the turmoil, flexing their muscles in the nearly lawless south of Yemen. They control two cities, including a provincial capital close to the strategic port city of Aden on the Arabian Sea.
