Prison break helper in court
Albuquerque - A woman who helped her fiance and two other men escape from an Arizona prison has pleaded not guilty to killing a couple in New Mexico while on the lam.
Shackled and wearing an orange jumpsuit, 44-year-old Casslyn Welch appeared before US magistrate Robert Scott on Monday.
Welch pleaded guilty last week in Arizona to charges of helping her cousin and fiance, John McCluskey, and two other men flee a prison near Kingman.
Welch is charged in New Mexico with federal carjacking and murder in the deaths of Gary and Linda Haas.
Prosecutors say she and two of the escaped inmates targeted the couple at a rest stop in New Mexico for the couple's camping trailer.
Several members of the Haas family were in court.
