Pussy Riot found guilty

2012-08-17 13:46

Moscow - A Moscow court on Friday pronounced a guilty verdict in the case of three members of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot who staged a protest against Russian President Vladimir Putin in a landmark church.

Judge Marina Syrova said the three band members had "carefully planned" their 21 February action inside the Christ the Saviour Cathedral. She was expected to sentence them later on Friday with the prosecution seeking three years of corrective labour.

That may constitute justice but going to jail for asking that Putin behave in a democratic fashion is definitely not justice.
