2012-03-04 22:38

Moscow - Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Sunday declared victory after an "open and honest battle" for the presidential post, as he addressed tens of thousands of supporters outside the Kremlin walls.

"We have won in an open and honest battle," Putin said with tears in his eyes and his voice hoarse with emotion, standing alongside outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev. "I promised you we would win, we won. Glory to Russia!"

Glory to the land of the Russ indeed. BRICS has just been strengthned. The world needs a strong Russia to keep these neo con thugs of the west from looting the world. The people of SA congratulate you Mr President!

Fidel, What is always most stunning with radicals, is that they believe they talk on behalf of "the" people. They think they represent the ,masses, !!! And are even ,prepared, to ,think, for them!!! You DON'T represent SA. Any political party with your thoughts and program, could not even get 2 percent of the vote !!!! And that counts for EVERY country in Africa. Snap out of your dream world, you make a fool of yourself!!!!

That is a qualified statement, a strong Russia means a strong alliance and our country is thankful for that.

Fidel, Again , that is idiotic to say this. Get of your high horse, and snap back to reality. Just because you happen to know where you can find Syria on the world map , and you know the name of the Russian president, does not make you qualified to talk on behalf of ANYONE. A comment like: "The people of SA congratulate you Mr President! " is dumb, stupid and plain CHILDISH GROW UP

The people of South Africa thanks Oprah for donating a school to our country. The people of SA thanks the fans who descended upon our country to attend the FIFA world cup..ad infinitum. A qualified statement, look that up, porkchop!

Yes, and "the people of SA" think ,you, are daft !!!!

      Fidel - 2012-03-05 12:27

Well, I'm sure that notion plays well to people's prejudices, but it doesn't really reflect reality.

RIGGED.. so rigged. Comrades the world over - all with the same philosophy re: leading a nation... NO LEADING... JUST RULING.

Putin is the best LEADER that Russia has had post communism. He is an excellent strategist, and a financial wizard to boot. At this point in time, the world needs a strong East to counter balance the strong West, otherwise we are in for a very rough ride.

      Fidel - 2012-03-05 08:21

Thank goodness we have "Putin's Russia" and the Chinese to counter-balance the other-wise completely world-dominating rogue state ,USA, and its puppet allies in NATO.

One just need one spark, like the one in Tunisia, and Russia will never be the same again. Eventually , the "people" will govern !!!

      Fidel - 2012-03-05 10:02

What you wish for and reality are two totally different things. The people of Russia have spoken. This sort of disconnection from reality is reminiscent of some sort of psychosis.

      Africa21stcentury - 2012-03-05 11:13

When one jails , or put your opposition under house arrest, even a porkchop could win an election !!!!

      Fidel - 2012-03-05 12:26

Who has been arrested ot put under house arrest? An excellent example of what to write when someone that you don't like wins the election.

      Alexander - 2012-03-05 15:15

I am sure- you are not Russian and you understand nothing about other cultures
