Several shot near US university - report

2012-08-13 20:41

Texas - Texas A&M University says a shooter has been taken into custody near its campus in College Station.

College Station police spokesperson Rhonda Seaton told CNN multiple people have been shot, including law enforcement, but she doesn't know the extent of the injuries.

Multiple calls to Seaton's cellphone from The Associated Press have gone straight to voicemail.

The university issued an alert on its website just after noon on Monday warning of an active shooter near the campus football stadium, Kyle Field.

The warning tells residents and students to avoid the area.

Seaton said the shooting happened within a block or two of campus not long after the warning was issued by the university.

She said police have one suspect in custody.

it is high time the US deal effectivly with the armed militia on its soil and stop refering to them as ' disturbed lone gunmen'. It seems that disgrundled american have taken up arms and started an armed opposition group. Next they gonna request that nato create a ' no fly zone' for them so that they can remove the undemocratic colonialist regime in the States! Ha ha ha !!!!!! Yeah i know its sound about as hillarious as the middle east's scenariio does it!!!??? But what if.....?

it just doesnt seem likely that so many individuals, spread over a wide area, in the same country, can act in a similar fashion without there being some sort of a political statement wanting to be made by some organised group! Now if they were muslim they would be labled 'terrorist , jihadist, islamist, Al-qaeda, ' without hesitation. No doubt iran, syria, hezbollah, hamas, al-qaeda would be amongst the ACCUSED sponsors of these terror attacks, (no proof needed) The fact that these ''lone gunmen'' are not of ''middle eastern'' decent (meaning muslim) but white americans and their religion are conveniently ommited from media reports! I guess it just doesnt sound as catchy to hear reports of ''christian fundamentalist'' or ''atheist extremist'' or ''zionist terrorist'' etc is that a phobia or what?
