Stink halts Lufthansa flight
Zurich - An unpleasant odour that left three flight attendants short of breath caused a Madrid-bound Lufthansa airplane to make an unplanned stop in Zurich on Friday.
Airport rescue personnel who entered the plane after it landed also said they felt unwell from the stink. The source of the fumes was not immediately clear. Three of the six attendants on board were taken to hospital for a check, but passengers were unaffected.
The Airbus A320, which had taken off earlier from Frankfurt, landed without incident and all 85 occupants disembarked normally, the airport said. Lufthansa said no one had been in any danger, but engineers were trying to find out what caused the smell.
