College Station - Police say the gunman has died after a shooting that killed a law enforcement officer and another civilian near the Texas A&M University campus.

Bryan police department spokesperson Jon Agnew says two other law enforcement officers and another woman also were injured in the Monday shooting in College Station. Bryan police are assisting in the investigation.

Assistant College Station police shief Scott McCollum earlier identified the officer killed as Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann.

College Station is about 145km northwest of Houston and has about 50 000 students.
