Tidal wave kills 26 in India

Madras - At least 26 people died Sunday when tidal waves caused by a massive earthquake off Indonesia crashed into coastal southern India, police and officials said.
The bodies of 10 fishermen were recovered from the shore in Machlipatnam district, 300km north of Madras, capital of Andhra Pradesh state, a district police official said.
Eleven deaths were also reported from Singaryakonda, a coastal village 400km north of Madras.
In Madras itself, at least five bodies were found floating off the sea at Ennore, in the northern part of the city, witnesses said.
