Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Moscow - The confirmed death toll from a flood at Russia's largest hydroelectric plant rose to 73, investigators said on Tuesday, as salvage efforts pressed on over two weeks after the tragedy.

"We confirm that the body of the 73rd victim has been found," a spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of the General Prosecutor's Office told AFP.

Another two people are still missing and presumed dead after water engulfed the machine room following a technical fault in one of the massive turbines at the Sayano-Shushenskaya dam in southern Siberia, trapping 75 workers.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said there is no hope of finding those listed as missing alive after the August 17 catastrophe.

Rescue operations are still ongoing at the Soviet-era dam straddling the powerful Yenisei river in what Russia's Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu has called the country's biggest technological catastrophe in 25 years.
