Tourists injured in Jamaica bus crash

2012-05-29 10:26
Kingston - A bus carrying tourists crashed and flipped over on a north coast road in Jamaica, injuring all 25 people aboard.

Police say that the tourists and a bus driver were taken to a hospital in Falmouth, a coastal town that is home to a cruise ship port.

The most seriously injured person appeared to be a woman who sustained a serious gash to one of her ears. Most of the tourists were treated and released after the crash on Monday.

Authorities say the visitors were travelling from the international airport in Montego Bay to the tourist town of Ocho Rios when a passing car apparently swerved in front of the bus on the two-lane road, leading to a collision.

The nationalities of the tourists were not immediately disclosed.
