Ankara - Turkey's interior minister says as many as 115 Kurdish rebels have been killed in a major military offensive in Turkey's Kurdish-dominated southeast in the past two weeks.

Idris Naim Sahin said on Sunday that the rebels were killed in an air power backed offensive near the town of Semdinli, close to the border with Iraq. He said the offensive started on 22 July.

Earlier on Sunday, Kurdish rebels raided three military posts in simultaneous attacks near the Iraq border, sparking a clash at one paramilitary outpost that left six soldiers and 14 rebels dead.
