Detroit - A young Nigerian man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to trying to kill nearly 300 people aboard a US-bound airliner on Christmas 2009 with explosives attached to his underwear.

"Do you understand that you have the right to remain silent?" asked Judge Nancy Edmunds.

"Yes," replied 25-year-old Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

"Do I understand correctly that you wish to waive that right to plead guilty to all the charges in the indictment?" asked the judge.

"Yes," again came the reply.

I do not agree with what he tried to do but admire that he has the conviction to speak the truth. Unlike the hypocrites who consantly lie to further their devious aims and hide behind resolutions and more lies of supposed evidence that cannot be made public. Perhaps its because there isn't any? such fabrications or figments of their warped imaginations. He is muslim, but maybe some of the commentators should stick to the subject and not vent their childhood abuses in public. Jowsa got it right, maybe benigns mother and father called him that and maybe his father knew what he was talking about and also spoke the truth.
