WATCH: Couple buys entire dog shelter after seeing the heartbreaking conditions

A Canadian couple visiting a run down animal shelter in Israel couldn't decide which dog to save - so they saved them all.

Danielle Eden and Rob Scheinberg are a married couple from Israel, living in Canada, who founded the Dog Tales rescue shelter in King City, Canada.

The shelter rehabilitates elderly, abused, and disabled dogs that are usually the last to find homes.

According to their website, the shelter is "a one-of-a-kind doggie haven... where the dogs can run, explore, and learn how to be dogs again, which is a privilege that many of them have never had".

“Danielle and Rob have four dogs of their own who they found on the street in Israel,” Clare Forndran, Dog Tales’ media specialist, told BuzzFeed.

When the couple most recently visited a shelter in Israel, looking for dogs to take back to their animal sanctuary, they were met with a dire situation. The dogs, who had ticks are sores all over their bodies, were crammed into kennels and surviving off loaves of bread.

This is when Danielle decided to do something remarkable - she bought the entire shelter on the spot and extended her stay in order to rescue the canines.“She immediately brought in vets as the dogs were in need of urgent medical care,” Forndran told Buzzfeed. She also hired a crew to clean up the shelter and put the dogs on healthy diets.

According to their Facebook page, 90 of the dogs have been relocated within Israel to more adequate shelters. 25 have already made the trip to Canada, while 150 dogs remain. The team in Israel are dedicated to making the dogs more comfortable until they can make the trip to Canada.

Slowly but surely, the rescued dogs began to relax and trust their new caretakers. “They could tell we were going to take care of them" Fordnran said.

Within weeks, the dogs were being adopted.
