The schoolboy apparently called himself a “Satanist” and told friends that he wanted to “change his life” not long before the murders.

While a family from Tambof in west Russia were sleeping peacefully, their 17-year-old son allegedly crept into their bedrooms and killed them off one by one with an axe.

Local police caught the schoolboy, Aleksander Kirejef, shortly afterwards reports Mail Online.

Officials found the bloody remains of Aleksander’s father, Wiktor (43), his sister, Wiktoria (14) and grandmother Wera (67) in their beds.

They had apparently been attacked with an axe. Wiktoria and Wera died on the scene while Wiktor died in hospital.

Mirror reports that the boy’s relationship with his family has soured following his mother’s death as a result of cancer three years ago. Aleksander apparently also didn’t like his father’s new girlfriend.

But this is not what lead Aleksander to his alleged murder spree. The last straw for him was when Wiktor refused to lend him R45 000 (200 000 ruble).

The police couldn’t figure out what the teenager wanted the small fortune for exactly but suspect that he had a problem with online gambling.

According to neighbors had become depressed after his mother’s passing. He apparently withdrew from society altogether.

“He said that God has betrayed him and that he is disappointed with him,” a friend of the teenager told a Russian TV-channel.

Aleksander apparently called himself a “Satanist” and told friends that he wanted to “change his life” not long before the murders.

“He said that he is a Satanist, death to God and so on,” a classmate added.

Reports indicate that Aleksander was part of a satanic sect but this hasn’t been confirmed as yet.

In the meantime he is in police custody while officials investigate the matter.
