Her latest single "Where We Belong" is just one of the songs that has taken the world by storm – but the Londoner insists she's just an average teen who enjoys her sleep, Netflix and hanging out with her friends.

At only 15-years-old, she has over 2 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and a massive fan base.

Her latest single "Where We Belong" is just one of the songs that has taken the world by storm – but the Londoner insists she's just an average teen who enjoys her sleep, Netflix and hanging out with her friends.

"I have my mum with me all the time so she manages to keep me grounded and everyone on my team, I have such an amazing team – both really supportive and they push me to achieve things, but they always look after me as well. They always make sure I have time to go home and just be a normal teenager in a way," she says.

"Whenever I am back in London, I always go back and hang around with my friends basically and just be a normal teenager and do my homework, so it’s pretty cool, we manage to balance it really well."

We managed to catch up with Jasmine during her trip to South Africa, ahead of her performance at the Park Life Festival this weekend and had a round of asking her a quick few fun facts:

What are the top 3 things we’ll find in your handbag?

My phone, headphones and a phone charger

Coffee or tea?

Tea, I’m trying to lay off the coffee.

Ice cream or chocolate?

Ice cream!

What can’t you leave the house without?

My phone!

What's favourite place in the world?

LA – it’s kind of like the centre of music at the moment. I really want to move there, no yet because most of my music is done in Europe at the moment so it doesn’t make sense to move all the way to LA so it’s good to be in London which is like a base between LA, Europe, South Africa and other places.

What are your nicknames and why?

  • My old YouTube name was TantrumJas, my Twitter name is TantrumJas, it’s to do with an old childhood nickname that kind of stuck when I was very moody towards a certain person and it was quite funny so he gave me a name. Other names? My friends don’t normally say my name, they kind of just say like, “yo, dude”.

How many siblings do you have?

I have an older brother, Jed and he is 20.

What’s your pet peeve?

I hate when people walk in front of me but they’re really slow. It’s so bad, like if you’re gonna walk slowly, don’t overtake me just to drag me down. It always happens on the tube especially when it’s rush hour and you want to weave in between people but then there’s this one person who gets in between the pathway.

What’s your secret pleasure?

Netflix, well, it’s not really that secret… I really like walking around. So if I’m not at home, in my bed being anti-social, watching Netflix, I’ll go on a walk with my friends.

If you had 5 minutes to whip up a meal, what would it be?

Tuna pesto pasta

Who would you choose to be stranded on a deserted island with and why?

I would probably say my best friend Cat, celebrity wise, I’m obsessed with the Dolan twins, do they count as one person, but I absolutely love them so much, that would be amazing.

If you could collaborate with one artist, who would it be and why?

I would love to do Florence + the Machine or actually Joe Cocker and his song, You Are So Beautiful” but he passed away, sadly

What is your morning ritual after waking up?

Shower, dry my hair, do my make-up, eat my breakfast and go!
