Kick off the weekend tonight with a bowl of popcorn and an action movie – you can choose between a crowd-pleaser and an old-style gangster flick! Don’t miss the Boks take on France in their second-last test tomorrow and if you’re feeling philosophical tune in to MNet’s 8pm movie on Sunday night.

Friday 22 November

The Rundown

SABC3  8.30 pm

Fans of The Rock should tune in to this one. Dwayne Johnson flexes his muscles as a bounty hunter who’s chasing a mob millionaire’s idiot son through the Amazon jungle.

Carlito’s Way

SABC1  10 pm

This 1993 movie is Al Pacino at his best. An ex-druglord who’s just been released from prison, he’s determined to make a fresh start. But trying to escape his violent past is easier said than done. Great performances too from Sean Penn and John Leguizamo.

Saturday 23 November

Clash Of The Titans

SABC3  7.30 pm

It’s off to ancient Greece as Sam Worthington puts on a skirt, finds out his dad is the thunder god Zeus and is told to save the world (and the damsel in distress) from his evil uncle Hades. With Liam Neeson as Zeus and Ralph Fiennes as Hades.

International Rugby

M-Net/CNS/SS1 9 pm

It’s the Boks’ second-last test of 2013! This game against France in Paris is likely to be more challenging than last week’s test against the Scots. But we're sure the boys have their game plan ready to tackle Les Tricolores. Vive la Springboks!

Sunday 24 November

Remember The Titans

SABC1 8 pm

The racially-segregated USA wasn’t a lekker place to be back in the ’60s. But a passionate black football coach (Denzel Washington) defied the odds by getting a mixed-race team of schoolboys functioning as a unit and winning championships.

Life Of Pi

M-Net 8.05 pm

A young man survives a disaster at sea and the only other survivor (who gets to the lifeboat before him, we might add) is a vicious Bengal tiger. This epic film won four awards at this year’s Oscars and is based on the best-selling book by Yann Martel.

*Note:

Due to SABC3 schedule changes The Rundown, one of the movies we’ve recommended in our newsletter, has been dropped. The South Africa vs Pakistan cricket match in Cape Town will be broadcast tonight at that time instead.
