Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding had a TV audience of about 750 million people (a billion in total if you add the radio audience), while the 2010 World Cup Final had 700 million viewers.

While the couple’s 1 900 guests are watching the proceedings from inside Westminster Abby, thousands are glued to big screens in London at Trafalgar Square and Hyde Park.
