Aimee and Carl Pistorius, Oscar's brother and sister said yesterday in an interview with ITV and eNCA that they will stand by Oscar no matter what.

Oscar Pistorius is set to find out today whether he'll sleep behind bars or in his own bed at his uncle Arnold's home in Waterkloof tonight.

Aimee said in the emotional interview that the Oscar she knows is far from the hot-headed trigger happy sports star painted by the prosecution but a "generous and loving" older brother with a "great desire to help people less fortunate than himself".

The siblings both believe the state's portrait of the athlete was a "malicious" attempt to shape the public's perception of a man they say is "bold, brave and [full of] courage."

"The brother I know is a kind person, generous, sometimes to a fault, where people take advantage of and he's got a good heart," she said. "He's thoughtful, loving, has a great desire to help people less fortunate than himself and just a real sincerity about him that few people would be able to live up to."

Carl and Aimee would not speculate what the outcome of today's sentencing might be.

Judge Thokozile will deliver Oscar's sentence in the North Gauteng High Court at 9:30 am.
