As the competition heats up, the remaining four Strictly Come Dancing couples didn’t disappoint. The semifinals last night were unpredictable, full of drama and suspense, and saw Graeme Richards and partner Lindsey Muckle departing the show.

After missing last week’s performance due to being hospitalised, Lalla Hirayama made an appearance on the dance floor even though she wasn’t fully recovered, and judges could tell she wasn’t herself. “You are stressed and it shows,” said Michael Wentink. The couple lost valuable votes and ended up in the dance-off against Graeme and Lindsey.  But the judges chose to save her and partner Grant Esterhuizen.

Graeme and Lindsey gave their best performance of the show thus far. “You brought your semifinals performance,” said judge Tebogo Kgobokoe. Sadly it wasn’t enough to keep the pair from being eliminated. “I am very disappointed and heartbroken but I’m very happy and proud that I learned how to dance,” Graeme said.

The dance and real-life couple ended the show with a passionate kiss. “I am so blessed to have known this woman outside the competition,” said Graeme.

“I will definitely miss training him and the time we spent together,” added Lindsey.

“Thapelo and I made a pact ? one of us has to win this,” Graeme added.

Thapelo Mokoena and Hayley Bennet, Zakeeya Patel and Ryan Hammond, and Lalla Hirayama and Grant Esterhuizen are through to the finals, so be sure to watch Strictly Come Dancing next week Wednesday on SABC3 at 8 pm to see who walks away with the glitter ball trophy.
