More bad news for 7de Laan fans.

7de Laan’s sly Gita McGregor will soon be appearing less regularly on the box.

The series’ public relations officer, Rosa-Mari Erasmus, has confirmed the actress Jo da Silva will be moving to Cape Town soon and is resigning as one of 7de Laan’s main cast members.

“We agreed she will still fly to Johannesburg from time to time to film storylines for 7de Laan. That means Jo’s not leaving the soapie altogether but will appear in it less.”

Jo will still be filming with 7de Laan until the end of this month and will appear on the box until the end of August. Jo will still be filming with 7de Laan until the end of this month and will appear on the box until the end of August.

At this stage Rosa-Mari can’t indicate what Jo will be focusing on in Cape Town.

Earlier this year Jo told YOU (March, 2016) in an interview that when she was in hospital four times last year, her daughter Caitlin was a huge support.

“She is my rock,” Jo said. At the beginning of last year Jo was booked off for more than 10 weeks with serious pneumonia. Between July and October she was in hospital three times because of a twisted small intestine.

“It really was one of the most difficult years of my life.

“I felt guilty because I wasn’t there for Caitlin and had left the 7de Laan team in the lurch,” Jo said. “But I realised it wasn’t my fault; I couldn’t help being so ill.”

Meantime, Caitlin has spread her wings this year by moving from Johannesburg to Cape Town. She wrote matric last year and is now studying marine biology at the University of Cape Town.

“I don’t have empty nest syndrome. I miss her terribly but have so much confidence in her I’m not at all concerned,” Jo said earlier this year.

Jo will still be filming with 7de Laan until the end of this month and will appear on the box until the end of August.
