Beef korma

We're turning the heat on for winter - with this delicious curry dish

Serves 6

Preparation time: 10 min

Cooking time: 1 hour 15 min

30 ml (2 T) flour

salt and pepper

1 kg beef goulash cubes

30 ml (2 T) oil

1 onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves, chopped

50 g korma curry paste

15 ml (1 T) sugar

250 ml (1 c) beef stock

400 g (1 can) coconut cream

100 g green beans

rice and poppadums to serve

toasted nuts and chopped fresh coriander to garnish

1 Put the flour in a plastic bag, season with salt and pepper and add the beef. Close the bag and shake to coat.

2 Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat and brown the meat in batches. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

3 Reduce the heat and add the onion and garlic to saucepan. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until soft.

4 Return the meat to the saucepan. In a bowl mix the korma paste, sugar and stock and stir into the saucepan. Adding the coconut cream and simmer for 1 hour.

5 Add the beans and simmer for 5 minutes.

6 Serve in bowls with rice and poppadums and a sprinkling of toasted nuts and coriander.
