We never thought we’d see the day when singer Beyonce performs the Haka. But Queen Bee recently unleashed her fierceness backstage at her New Zealand concert of her Mrs Carter world tour, by joining a Haka war dance performed backstage.

According to the Daily Mail, the local crew of stagehands and technicians from Beyonce’s concert greeted her by performing the ancient rite. Beyonce joined in on the facial expressions and all.

The Haka is a traditional ancestral war cry, dance or challenge from the Maori people of New Zealand. The Haka (haka which means a dance or song accompanied by dance) was made popular by the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team. The All Blacks perform the Haka before each match.

Maori culture seems to be the it thing – Rihanna recently got a traditional Maori tattoo on her hand.
