A number of fires are raging across Cape Town this morning, with strong winds  fuelling the blazes.

More than 300 fightfighters are said to be working to contain the fires wreaking havoc on the Southern Peninsula, from Boyes Drive in Muizenberg all the way to the Sun Valley area.
Fires are said to have started late last night in the mountains above Muizenberg, moving in the direction of Noordhoek and Hout Bay.
Theo Layne from City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services told News24, adding that four houses have already burnt down. Residents have been evacuated.
Ou Kaapse Weg, Chapman's Peak Drive and Boyes Drive have been closed to traffic, as firefighters battle the mountain blaze from the roadside.
"The fire is contained in certain areas, but on the higher slopes of the mountain it is not contained yet," he said shortly after 07:00. "The wind is currently not too bad, but we are expecting high temperatures later in the day," he added.
